I’ve been converting my poetry into songs with the help of AI. Some claim that using AI means it isn’t “real” music, but music has always been a tool of expression.

 

Using AI to generate music doesn’t make a song unoriginal; the AI is just a tool, like a piano, a DAW, or a studio band. My originality comes from my lyrics and the choices I make: the prompts I give, the style, the mood, the tempo, and how I shape the music around the words.

 

Even if the AI draws on existing genres, it’s my phrasing, structure, instrumentation, and stylistic decisions that leave my creative fingerprint on the work—like having the Wrecking Crew on call.
