Blue Note Shadows drifts through an abstracted urban soundscape, where fractured swing impulses, shadowed harmonies, and off-kilter rhythmic figures replace the bustle of Tin Pan Alley with something more elusive and nocturnal. Angular piano voicings, muted brass murmurs, wandering bass lines, and brushed, destabilized pulse create a tense, spacious dialogue, emphasizing timbre, restraint, and the poetry of silence as much as motion. Clarinet and trumpet lines emerge in fragments—half-spoken, half-improvised—suggesting alleyway echoes, late-night reflections, and a city heard after the crowd has gone.
Created through guided AI generation, the album was shaped by careful curation, refinement, and sequencing, focusing on micro-phrasing, tonal ambiguity, and the ongoing conversation between human intention and machine interpretation.
The result is a stark instrumental journey that refracts early jazz language through an avant-garde lens—where familiar forms dissolve into shadow, momentum gives way to tension, and the city’s music lingers not in celebration, but in suggestion, abstraction, and mood.
